I thought a LOT of the jokes were really funny. I don't get the point of some of the jokes (they were just bad, which I'm going to address in my review), but overall, this is a solid entry in the series. It's far better than Seed of Chucky.

I'm watching Cult of Chucky. Is it me, or does every major slasher franchise have a film that takes place in a hospital or an asylum? And why is there only like 3 employees in the asylum? I feel bad for them because they each work 24/7 apparently.

Not only that, but I swear to god I couldn't tell if that nurse was a real nurse or a patient. Nurses don't dress like that and if they do I'm committing myself tomorrow.

It's beautifully shot, though. The scene where Chucky sets off the oxygen is gorgeous.

Checked out Hush tonight, FINALLY. Don't know why I waited this long because I'm a big fan of Mike Flanagan's work. This one did not disappoint.

Regarding Cult of Chucky, did anybody else get really excited when it revealed Andy has been keeping Chucky's severed head mounted in an isolated cabin? I thought this would've been really fun watching the two of them play mind games with each other, but it was short-lived when the focus shifted to the asylum. I was hoping for more.

I did!

But I think they made the wise choice. I don't think the guy who plays Andy is a strong enough actor to pull off extended scenes, and they used him effectively to his strengths.

If anyone has Amazon Prime, they have TONS of B-grade (and most assuredly C-grade and D-grade) horror films.

Last night I watched Society. WTF?!? :screwy:

I know the director and effects people are some of the best in the industry, but that movie was disturbing on a whole 'nother level. Specifically the last 30 minutes.

I did, I thought that was going to be an interesting twist, but it turns out it wasn't at all. I agree with AR though, the actor just isn't that strong. He's basically there because his mom made him act when he was a kid and she wasn't all that picky about how he earned the paycheck

I had the same thoughts about the nurse, and you're right, it was a movie that was easy on the eyes.

For which movie? On Netflix both did credit rolls and it was over. I just doublechecked.

Cult of Chucky had one of those Marvel-style credits things. Where it shows a bunch of credits, then you get a little more movie, then it's over for real real.

It's pretty cool.

I'll tell you what I saw on the Blu-ray if you didn't see it and want to know.

(Curse of Chucky did the a similar thing, though.)

Thanks for posting that, that's not on Netflix. It just does a credit roll and then ends.

I watched Satanic on Netflix. Not bad, but not great. If you're a fan of Modern Family this is basically Haley having a really bad weekend on the way to Coachella.

Also, Cult of Chucky on Netflix isn't unrated, apparently. It's about a minute shorter than the (unrated) Blu-ray.

I watched The Babysitter last night on Netflix. It was OK, fun enough and plenty of gore but I'm not sure Netflix has really cracked feature length horror movies yet. With this, and the disappointing Little Evil, they're getting there but they've yet to make a truly great fun horror movie yet. Samara Weaving though.
