Abe Lincoln Goes Berserk in New Baltimore Horror Movie!
Just in time for President's Day 2010, local filmmakers Chris LaMartina and Jimmy George unleash a deranged rendition of our 16th president in the gory slasher-satire, President's Day.
A high school student council election turns deadly when a homicidal maniac dressed as Abraham Lincoln begins murdering candidates.
Directed and co-written by LaMartina, this gruesome horror-comedy was inspired by a healthy mix of presidential politics and campy 1980s slasher flicks. The film also boasts performances by George Stover (John Waters' Desperate Living and Polyester), Ruby LaRocca (Lord of the G-Strings) and Shawn C. Phillips (star of Youtube's "Don & Murph" show).
LaMartina and George's last film, Grave Mistakes, recently won "Best B-Movie" at the 2009 Shockerfest International Film Fesitval and will be released this May through Pop Cinema.
The premiere will be held at The Charles Theatre (1711 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD.) at 7:30PM on February 15th, 2010. Tickets are $10.00. More information can be found at the President's DayFacebook page.
