Colin - The micro-budget zombie movie that's a big hit at Cannes.
Good news has travelled fast as low-budget indie zombie movie, Colin, has caught the eye of several distributors at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Shot on a budget that would barely buy a glass of Moet at the glitzy bash, Colin has got two Japanese distributors interested in releasing the film in a dubbed version for their domestic market.

At a festival that opened with the new $75 million offering from Disney/Pixar, it is perhaps surprising that this micro-budgeted film has piqued the interest of distributors. Director Marc price told UK newspaper The Daily Mail, "'I'd love to have a UK or US distribution deal. I just want people to see it. I wouldn't want the film to be picked up and end up just sitting on a shelf."

Presented by Rude Shape Productions and Oddity Cinema, DRIFFF 2009 features northwest premieres, special guest Q & As, award-winning shorts, door prizes and more gore than you can stab a stake through.

We are proud to present the northwest premieres of several feature films including David Gregory's nightmarish Plague Town (USA), Martin Weisz's Grimm Love (Germany) based on the homosexual cannibal killer Armin Miewes, Jonathan Lewis' Black Devil Doll (USA), a microbudget film with a big kick, Gadi Harel and Marcel Sarmiento's DEADGIRL, Justin Johnson and Aaron Marshall's Zombie Girl: The Movie, the Bryan "Re-Animator" Yuzna-produced anthology film, Takut: Faces of Fear (Indonesia) and Frank "Basket Case" Henenlotter's late-night 'comely' shocker, Bad Biology (USA). Dark Sky Films to release The Cremator.
Called "morbid, darkly funny work" by TV Guide and "horror of the purest kind… a sinister gem which deserves rediscovery" by Beyond Hollywood, The Cremator is a stunning example of the Czech New Wave movement, gliding effortlessly between surrealism and expressionism. Equal parts black comedy and horror, The Cremator was originally released in 1969 and went on to win Best Actor and Best Cinematography at the 1972 Sitges Film Festival.

The Cremator tells the tale of Karl Kopfrkingl (Rudolf Hrusinsky), who works at a stately crematorium in Prague. Obsessed with his duties, he believes he is liberating the souls of the departed. With Nazi forces gathering at the Czech border, Karl descends into a mania that allows him to wholly enact his disturbed beliefs. No one is safe from his quest for salvation, not even his own family.

The film went on to win and will please fans of films like Eraserhead, El Topo and Vampyr and will be released on DVD on March 31st, 2009 from Dark Sky Films.
